MANGAL changes to KANGAL

Imphal, May 11 2009: The word Manipur of the association Manipur Nganhalba Apunba Lup (MANGAL) has been replaced by Kangleipak and henceforth the body will be known as Kangleipak Nganhalba Apunba Lup (KANGAL), informed functionaries of the body today at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Major Khul.

Giving reason for changing the name of the body, secretary, Nimai Koijam said that Manipur is not the real name of the state and the real name should be Kangleipak.

By knowing this, they have decided to change it.

The body has been performing the various ceremony related with old culture and tradition of the state, he observed.
