Youth Leadership Camp
All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation is organising a youth leadership Residential Camp at Kondhong Lairembi Haraobung, Moreh from May 30 to June 1.The camp will be hosted by All Community Development Organisation Moreh says a press release.
One UPF cadre held
Troops of the 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area Kairang and apprehended one UPF (Lanheiba) cadre on May 20.
According to a statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S), the apprehendee was identified as Ningombam Bishworjit alias Coolie, S/o Ninggombam Biren of Thangmeiband Thingen Leikai, Imphal west district.
The apprehendee was handed over to the Heingang Police Station.
SUK on missing kids
Students Union of Kangleipak has appealed for releasing of two boys of Mahila Kalyan Samiti Dewlaland Children Home, if anybody had kept them in captivity.
It also alleged that the government is incapable and could not trace the missing boys M Sakhenba and Yaikhom Khomdonba.
Award announced
The 21st annual prize distribution to the meritorious student-2015 of Education Guide Centre Award has been conferred to Mohammad Wajirul Islam son of late Md Tajuddin of Royal Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai for scoring 93.8 percentage in the Class XII exam conducted by COHSEM.
Play Postponed
The play Saklon Puba Guru of Manipur Dramatic Union which was scheduled to be staged on May 23 at the ongoing 30th All Manipur Drama Festival 2014 - 15 is being rescheduled on May 27 says a press release from the secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademy.

State illness fund beneficiaries

Gourakishore no more
G.Gourakishore Sharma, the principal of Hueyen Lalong Manipur Thang Ta Cultural Association expired in his home at Keirao Awang Leikai on Friday evening.
He was 79.He was awarded Padmashree on March 31, 2009 by then president of India Pratibha Patel.
He took a major role in popularizing the Manipuri armed martial arts.
Many associations have condoled the death of this teacher.
Assam Rifles inaugurates community hall
According to a statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S) one Community Hall which was constructed under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme at K Songlung of Kangchup Village was inaugurated on May 9 by 8 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), Brigadier V T Mathew, Commander, 9 Sector Assam Rifles attended in the inauguration programme.
AR conducts eye camp
A free eye camp was held on April 10 by 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Phungyar village, Ukhrul district under Op Sadbhavana programme.
According to a statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S), 106 patients from the Phungyar and adjoining villages were diagnosed and provided with required medicines during the camp.
The camp was conducted in collobration with Ukhrul District Hospital, Medical Officer and paramedical staff of the unit.

Police arrest UNLF Cadre
A team of District Police Commando, Imphal East arrested a corporal of UNLF on Friday during a frisking at Harikhagok Makhong, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai.
The arrested cadre of UNLF is identified as R K Rohikumar @ Ikouhanba @ Sunil aged 41, son of late R K Ghanashyam of Palace Gate near Macha Leima.
A case is registered at Porompat Police station and investigation is on says a press release from the PRO, Police Department, Manipur.
