Advanced Hospital's registration cancelled

Registration certificate given to Advanced Speciality Hospital and Research Institute, Palace Compound has been cancelled for six months with immediate effect for employing some doctors presently working under the State Government and at JNIMS.
The hospital authority has also been instructed to shut down the hospital.
One top ranking official of Health Department informed that registration certificate given to Advanced Speciality Hospital and Research Institute has been cancelled for employing some Government doctors.
Similar actions would be initiated if any private hospitals/ clinics are found employing Government doctors.
Official teams were sent to different private hospitals/clinics to collect details of doctors working at those hospitals and clinics.
Private hospitals/clinics are registered under the Manipur Nursing Homes and Clinics Registration Act 1992 under the condition that they should not employ any Government doctors.
When a Government doctor works in a private hospital, they tend to avoid their duties at Government hospitals or health centres so that they can work in the private hospital.
Moreover, they refer patients to private hospitals where they are working even though the patients came to Government hospitals in the first place.
Police have also been asked to check if Government doctors are working in private hospitals, informed the official.
Apart from the private hospitals which employ Government doctors, those Government working in private doctors are also culpable and they are also likely to face the music.
An order issued by Health Director Dr G Ibomcha has cancelled the registration of Advanced Speciality.
Hospital and Research Institute for six months for not complying.
