Interactive session on plastic processing held

An interactive session was organised today by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at Classic Hotel, Imphal.
The programme was held with an aim to promote plastic processing industries in the North Eastern region.
Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BPCL) under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India, will initiate mega projects in the North Eastern region in order to increase the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the country.
The Central Government has granted Rs 10,000 crore in order to implement the project in the North Eastern
region successfully.
The interactive session was attended by Sh Surjit K Chaudhary, Secretary, Chemical & Petrochemicals, Government of India, PN Prasad, Managing Director, BPCL, Professor SK Nayak, Director General, Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET), S Chhabra, OSD, Social Welfare cum CEO, Manipur State Rural Roads Develop ment Agency (MSRRDA) and Dr Kh Palin, Co-chair man, FICCI, North East Advisory Council.
