A two-day National seminar on 'Banana for maximum income generation' has begun from today at the Supervisors' Training Hall at Mantripukhri.
The seminar is being organised by the Technology Mission Cell of the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur and is being sponsored by the National Horticulture Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
The inaugural function of the seminar was attended by former Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department Kh Kirankumar as chief guest, former Joint Director of the Department Asem Ibotombi Singh as functional president and Horticulture Professor of Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat Dr B Khangia and Associate Professor of Horticulture, CAU Iroisemba Dr RK Dilip as guests of honour.
In the technical session of the seminar today, resource persons from CAU Iroisemba, ICAR and Agriculture Universities of other States presented papers on various related topics.
Around 75 delegates coming from different parts are participating in the seminar which would continue till March 21.
