Imphal, April 17:
Taking strong except against the non-release of TPDS rice for Senapati district for the month of October, November and December 2007, the Naga Peoples' Organisation has demanded that the rightful share of the people of the district should be released and questioned how the Govt could remain a mute spectator when rice quota for three months have gone missing.
In a statement, NPO said that apart from the non-release of the rice quota for the said three months, the Govt has not released the TPDS rice quota for January, February, March and April this year on the ground that no utilisation certificate for the three said months have been produced.
Sounding a stern warning, NPO said that if the rice quota for the three months and the pending share for the months of January, February, March and April are not released unconditionally within April this year, then it would be constrained to launch a series of agitation and the Government should be held solely responsible for any untoward incident.
