Source: Chronicle News Service
Imphal, November 16 2024:
Strongly reacting to the re-imposition of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in six police stations in the state, the All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) has demanded that the draconian law be withdrawn immediately.
In a statement, the AMMDC alleged that both the state and central governments have failed to take tangible steps to resolve the violence, stating that the state government now exists just for namesake.
"Instead of resolving the crisis, the Centre re-imposed AFSPA in six police stations," AMMDC contended and demanded immediate removal of AFSPA from the six police stations.
