Cycle rally marks World Tourism Day

Imphal, September 27 2025:
To mark World Tourism Day 2025, a Cycle Rally was carried out today from Kangla to Imphal Peace Museum with the theme, "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation" .
The rally was organised by Indiatourism Imphal, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur and the Manipur Tourism Forum.
The rally was flagged off by Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh, Director, Youth Affairs & Sports, Manipur, in the presence of Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh, Managing Director, Classic Group of Hotels; Kunjabihari, President, Manipur Tourism Forum; and Ngangkham Lilabati, Assistant Director, Indiatourism Imphal.
A total of 130 enthusiastic cyclists including local communities, youth, and sports enthusiasts participated in the rally, promoting the message of eco-friendly tourism practices, responsible travel, and community involvement in sustainable development Following the cycle rally, a cleanliness drive was conducted at the Imphal Peace Museum as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign.
The participants enthusiastically took part in the initiative, reaffirming the commitment to clean, green, and sustainable tourism.
The programme reflected the Ministry of Tourism's commitment towards promoting sustainable tourism development in the North East, particularly in Manipur, while encouraging active involvement of stakeholders and the community in achieving longterm positive transformation in tourism.
