Thoubal, June 14 2025: The award distribution ceremony of the 17th DLCYC Award 2025 was held today at the office of District Library Cum Youth Centre (DLCYC) Athokpam.

The event was graced by Okram Surjakumar, MLA, Khangabok AC as the chief guest; Dr Th Priyokumar, vice president, DLCYC as the functional president and Okram Landhoni Devi, former MLA of Khangabok AC and Kh Bishwoijit, Caretaker Chairperson, Thoubal Municipal Council as the guests of honour.

Altogether, 44 Class X passed students, 21 Class XII passed students, 2 assistant professors and 1 associate professor who received their PhDs, 2 national level players and 3 senior citizens were honoured during the ceremony with a shawl, citation, trophy, memento and cash award.

Some of the awards distributed today include Leimapokpam Muhindro Memorial Award (given to top scorer in science in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM); Thongam Babudhon Memorial Award (for players who have competed in State, National and international level); Changamayum Harimohon Memorial Award (given to overall topper in COHSEM's Class XII exam in science stream); Takhellamba Nageshwar Amasung Takhellamba Ongbi Nungshi Devi Award (for top 3 position holders in BOSEM's Class X exam); Leimapokpam Khomdon Memorial Award (for three senior citizens engaged in different occupations); Athokpam Bira Amasung Tombimacha Memorial Award (Class X topper); Mayengbam Kaminibabu Memorial Award (NEET UG/PG passed students); Sagolshem Ongbi Waikhom Ibemhal Memorial Award (given to a weaver belonging to BPL/EBC); Thongram Amu Memorial Award (for social activism); Moirangthem Iboyaima Singh Memorial Award (top scorer in Manipuri subject in Class XII exam) and Okram Inaomacha Amasung Okram Albert Singh Memorial Award (for top scorer in mathematics in Class XII exam).

Speaking as the chief guest, MLA Okram Surjakumar condoled the death of two crew members of Air India in the devastating plane crash which occurred in Ahmedabad on June 12 .
