Booklet details MPA's action since formation

Since the Lamdan ambush till December 31 last year, the MPA cadres attacked, ambushed and over powered security personnel in 149 offensives, said the booklet and added that in all the operations the security personnel suffered casualties.
Giving details, the booklet said that from 1991 till 1995, MPA cadres launched a total of 16 offensives, from 1996 till 1998 a total of 13, from 1999 to 2000, the number of offensives was 11, nine in 2001, thirteen in 2002, four in 2003, thirty in 2004, forty five in 2005, twelve in 2007 and from November 2007 till January 5 this year a number of attacks was launched by MPA cadres in Chandel district in which 20 security personnel were killed.
The book let published by the Genl Hqs, Manipur People's Army also noted that during the last three years, the MPA has managed to procure over 4000 arms.

To coincide with its 21st Raising Day on February, the proscribed UNLF has published a booklet, in multi-colour complete with pictures, detailing the actions taken up by its armed wing, MPA, till date.
The MPA which was formed on February 9, 1987 launched its first offensive at Lamdan in Tamenglong district and seized a number of weapons from the CRPF November 15, 1991, said the booklet and detailed the weapons seized as three SLRs, one LMG, one 9 mm Browning Pistol and two RT sets.
Five CRPF personnel were also killed, it added.
