Imphal, June 05:
Pointing the finger of accusation at KK Nganba and his men who have broken ranks with the KCP, the outfit today said that it is common for those who cannot adhere to the strict rules and regulations of a revolutionary outfit to break away and then level charges for their own narrow ends.
In a statement issued to the press today, information and publicity secretary of the KCP, H Poirei said that there is no question of its president Senggoi Meitei acting like a dictator.
On the other hand KK Nganba and some of his men realised that they could no longer continue with their selfish agenda, when the president Senggoi Meitei read out his address to the party cadres during the 28th foundation day of the KCP on April 14 this year.
Representatives of the UNLF, KYKL and PREPAK were also present.
Since they realised that they cannot continue to bluff their way they deserted the camp of the KCP, said Poirei and named the other associates of K Nganba as major Nongthang alias Ranjit, captain Santosh alias Jagat alias Arun and sgt maj Leingakpa alias Opendro.
The emergency within the KCP was imposed after a third of the Central Committee members had voted in favour of the emergency, said Poirei and added that it was imposed in accordance with article 7 of the party's rules and regulations.
KK Nganba himself and other Central Committee members advocated the imposition of the emergency and the president did as per the wishes of the CC members, it said and added that there is no question of twisting or violating rules and regulations of the party.
It is also surprising that the general secretary who has come out to face the mighty Indian security forces did not have the gumption to speak out his mind during the meeting of the Central Committee, rued the statement.
The very fact that he spoke about his supposed grievances through the media after fleeing from the camp is itself evident at KK Nganba is unable to use the rights given to all under the principle of Democratic Centralism and Criticism and Self Criticism.
Asserting that the KCP functions under the principle of collective leadership and collective leadership, Poirei claimed that there is no question of anyone acting like a dictator.
Whatever KK Nganba has said does not have any basis and with the backing of just three other members, he cannot claim to be heading a group, asserted the statement and reminded how the KCP was re-united after much effort and with the help of other fraternal underground outfits.
There is also no post called Chief Project Officer in the KCP.
The outfit also rubbished the claims of selling off arms to another group by Senggoi Meitei.
The statement also spelt out the objectives and aspirations of the KCP anew.
