ACOAM-Lup observes 19th foundation day

Imphal, July 02 2019: The 19th foundation day of ACOAM-Lup Kangleipak, was observed at Laishram Khulem Leikai community hall, Naoremthong Laishram Leirak DC Road today.

The foundation day celebration was attended by ACOAM-Lup president in charge Sanjit Soraisam, International and National awardee H Ibotombi Khuman, Associate Professor Dhanamanjuri University (DM Science) and founder president of ACOAM-Lup Kangleipak, RK Chandrakumar (Langdaiba) Singh and UCM vice president Ksh Somorendro as the presidium members.

Speaking at the event, ACOAM-Lup president in charge Sanjit Soraisam wished the people of the State and informed that the organisation was established on July 2, 2001 and its motto is dignified integrity.

He said that every year, as a part of its foundation day, ACOAM-Lup has been providing gifts and aids to the children homes and old age homes.

ACOAM-Lup also observes July 27 as Integrity Protection Day every year in protest against the Bangkok Agreement which was signed between the Centre and the NSCN (IM) on June 14, 2001, he added.

Sanjit continued that the organisation has been working tirelessly to improve the bond between the various communities, particularly the hills and the valley, apart from observing Mera Houchongba event as well.

ACOAM - Lup also observes the burning of the sacred Puyas every year, he said adding that ACOAM-Lup also played a huge part in the formation of the Kangleipak Calendar Board which is responsible for ensuring that the Meitei time and dates etc are properly followed and maintained.

On the other hand, the organisation also organised a seminar, 'How to preserve our historical landmarks and names', apart from extending support and aid to the poor and needy people of the State, he added.
