Over 19 thousand people affected

Imphal, June 01 2025:
Heavy rainfall and flooding in the State has affected a total of 19,811 persons across 103 localities/villages.
According to a daily situation report for flood/landslide issued by Kajaigai Gangmei, Director, Relief & Disaster Management, the number of houses damaged overall stands at 3,365 while infrastructural damage has risen to 14 .
Two persons have reportedly sustained injuries so far while 64 animals have perished in the flood.
A total of 1,599 persons were evacuated from flood affected sites.
31 relief camps have been opened to shelter the affected families.
Three medical relief camps have also been set up.
Total crop area of 11.8 hectares suffered damages due to heavy rainfall and flooding.
47 landslides have been reported throughout the State.
33 of them occurred in the last 24 hours.
The NDRF, Army, SDRF and State police/Fire Service have been deployed to provide assistance to the flood affected people.
