NSCN-IM's ex-CAO found dead

Ukhrul, November 28 2014 : Former CAO, NSCN-IM Wung Tangkhul Region WTR Yarkhao Wungkhai (75) who was a Tatar member of NSCN-IM WTR was found murdered by unidentified miscreants at his Dungrei Hundung residence.

He was staying with a minor boy at Dungrei.

Today at around 10 am after having meals, the boy left for school while Wungkhai was busy doing a carpentry work at home.

The boy after returning home from school found Wungkhai lying breathless in the kitchen in a pool of blood at around 3 pm.

It is suspected that he was strangulated to death even though he bore injury marks made by a sharp object around his neck.

A brick block and a knife were found beside him.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

At present, his wife is living separately with their children.

No exact reason behind the murder could be ascertained so far.

Meanwhile, the TKS has condemned the murder of the senior citizen terming it gruesome and barbaric.

It also urged all concerned to refrain from violence.

Tangkhul civil society organizations have arranged a condolence service of Yarkhao Wungkhai at TNL ground tomorrow.

After the condolence service is over, his body would be taken back to his native village Khamasom Khayangkho.
