Imphal, May 28 2024:
Taking strong exception to some Government and private schools allegedly beginning the admission process to Class XI just after the declaration of the HSLC (Class X) examination conducted by BOSEM, the Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has urged all concerned to immediately stop the admission process.
Speaking to the media at its office at Khoyathong today, KSA secretary Toijam Ranakumar Meetei said that every school should conduct an entrance test to admit students.
Urging all concerned to refrain from giving priority to students who performed better in the board examination under the grade point system, Ranakumar maintained that enrolment of students should be done after conducting entrance tests.
Every student must be given the opportunity to pursue the stream and school of his/her preference, he said and further appealed to all schools to not keep the cutoff mark for enrolment very high.
Continuing that many displaced students also gave the board examination despite all the inconvenience they have been facing and many of them scored low grades, Ranakumar asked all the higher secondary schools to spell out the measures taken up for displaced students for enrolling them.
