Farmers training on "Organic and Natural Farming" conducted

Imphal, September 27 2025:
A 1-day fanners training and demonstration on "Organic and Natural F arming' ' was conducted today at the community hall in Uyumpok Khunjao, Imphal East district.
The training programme was organised by the Regional Centre for Organised & Natural Farming (RCONF), Imphal in collaboration with Green Foundation.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Dr VY Deoghare, Deputy Director, RCONF Imphal; and MK Meena, Technical Assistant, RCONF Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr VY Deoghare said that the training cum demonstration programme was conducted to educate the farmers about the benefits and implementation of natural farming.
He shared that a 'cluster' for farmers who have received natural farming training will be constituted and necessary assistance will be provided to the cluster.
He continued that the natural farming cluster will be a part of the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF), a Central Government initiative which aims to promote chemical-free, ecosystembased natural farming across India.
Dr VY Deoghare also announced that preparations are made to conduct similar programmes in six different locations across the State.
During the event, resource persons namely Kh Nimaichand, Nodal Officer, MOVCDNER, Agriculture Department, Manipur and Dr Akoijam Ratankumar Singh, Senior Scientist, Plant Pathology, ICAR-RC for NEH Region Manipur Centre educated the farmers on the benefits and implementation of organic farming & natural farming.
Experts also gave demonstrations on how to make organic manure from farm waste materials like crop residues, animal manure, and kitchen scraps.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers of Uyumpok and surrounding areas.
