Meghen talks unity to face external forces

Former rebel leader RK Meghen alias Sanayaima has appealed to all political parties and civil society organizations to put aside their differences and work together in unity to face external threats.
The appeal was made during a ceremony at Maibam Lotpa Ching, where a bust was unveiled in honour of Biyas Ningthoujam, a village volunteer who lost his life while fighting to safeguard Manipur amidst the current turmoil.
The ceremony was organised by Biyas Ningthoujam Memorial Trust, Peace Committee Kangleipak and local clubs and meira paibi lups.
Floral tributes were paid to the bust in honour of the village volunteer's sacrifice.
At the event, Meghen said that the people are well aware of the actions they must take if security forces, tasked with protecting civilians, resort to pursuing and arresting innocent people.
Warning that Manipur may face similar or even more daunting challenges in the future, he emphasized that the unity of the people is crucial to protect Manipur.
DESAM president M Somorjit Meitei, former ICHAM president N Rajendro, Biyas Ningthoujam Memorial Trust chairman T Khaba Khuman, ANUL Bishnupur president L Pramo, UPC Nambol women's wing secretary L Premila and DESAM former president L Lamyanba Meitei also attended the programme among others.
