PREPAK observes Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit

Imphal, November 12 2025: The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and its armed wing the Red Army observed "Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit 2025" along with different communities residing in the hills and valley, said a press release issued by publicity officer of the outfit, Mangai Khuman.

The outfit stated that the observance was held at its Central Headquarters (CHQ), General Headquarters (GHQ), 707 Mobile Battalion, Base Area-1, Base Area 2, Base 3, Base Area 4, Training Centre, Mobile Battalion 01, Mobile Battalion 02 etc .

Offering floral tributes to the memorial sites of martyrs, giving gun salute, and lighting of candles at residential gates in their honour were the highlights of the Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit, it added.

The observance held at the CHQ was graced by the outfit interim council chairman and charge d' affairs, publicity and propaganda, it added.

While at the GHQ, chief of army staff (CAS) of the Red Army, charge d'affairs (medical and family welfare), deputy finance secretary of organisation 1 and 2 graced the Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit, the outfit added.

The CAS unfurled the party's flag at half mast and observed silence for two minutes, followed by a gun salute in honour of the martyrs, it said.

The observation held at 707 Battalion was graced by base area secretary of the Red Army and CO of the camp, it added.

PREPAK thanked the people of Manipur for making the programme by lighting candles at their residential gates and roads in honour of the martyrs.

The outfit stated that the sacrificial spirit shown by their seniors in the freedom struggle continues to inspire the people of Manipur till today.

It also said that the martyrs who carried forward the freedom struggle knew exactly who the enemy and friends were.

Stating that the valour and sacrifice of the martyrs have kept the spirit of the freedom struggle alive, PREPAK alleged that some opportunists disguised as revolutionaries, however, conspired with the 'enemy India' to undermine the freedom struggle.

Claiming that these individuals have misled the people and distorted the meaning of patriotism, the outfit appealed to the people to remain vigilant.
