Imphal, February 11: Responding to the warning of the proscribed PREPAK's Imphal West commander in-charge Kangla, Sorokhaibam Imotomba alias Surjit of Chingamakha Sorokhaibam Leikai surrendered to the Home department of the party yesterday.

Parading Imotomba before media persons at a location in Senapati district, a spokesperson of the party accused Imotomba of extorting Rs 2000 from a bakery located at Sorokhaibam Leikai in collusion with one Sorokhaibam Tomba alias Surjit belonging to his locality in the name of the outfit.

The duo also extorted Rs 5000 and Rs 1000 respectively from two steel shops located at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai and Waikhom Leikai.

According to Imotomba, Tomba claimed that he working as a collector for the PREPAK.

Tomba alias Surjit had been shot dead by two unidentified persons at his own home on February 9.Imotomba disclosed that they demanded Rs 5000 from each of the fish shops located at Singjamei Chingamakhong.

They also used to take heroine No 4.In all these anti-party activities, Hem Singh of Bokul Makhong, Mani and Irom Naocha of Chanam Pukhri Irom Leikai were also involved, disclosed the spokesperson.

Warning all drug abusers and anti-social elements of stringent punishment, the spokesperson said that Imotomba would not be given any harsh punishment for he had surrendered and confessed his wrongdoings but he should stay in a rehabilitation centre for six months.
