Protests continue unabated at different parts

Protests were held at multiple locations today, demanding justice for the terror attack at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur that claimed the lives of two innocent children, a five year old boy and his newborn sister, as well as for the deaths of three protesters who were shot by CRPF .
The demonstrations were held at Loukham Leirak, Khongman, Uripok Sorbon Thingel, Awang Potshangbam Khunou, Kyamgei, Moirangpurel, Ningomthong, Sawombung, Kwakeithel etc .
"CM and HM must resign"
A sit-in protest was held at Moirangpurel Community Hall in Imphal East, during which a demand was raised for the resignation of Chief Minister Y Khemchand and Home Minister K Govindas.
The protesters belonging to different communities, stated that the incidents at Tronglaobi - the bomb attack that killed two siblings and critically injured their mother, and the CRPF's firing on civilian protesters that killed three persons are unacceptable.
As part of the protest, a rally was also held at the area, where people chanted slogans such as, "Chief Minister and Home Minister, who failed to protect the lives and properties of the people, must resign on moral grounds" .
Human chain formed
At Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi, a human chain was formed demanding justice for the victims, the bomb attack that killed innocent children and the CRPF's firing on protesters.
Expressing doubts that handing over the case to the NIA would uncover the truth, they urged the Government to form a House Committee, with representatives from both the ruling and Opposition parties by convening a special session of the Assembly to investigate the case.
The protest organised by Peace and Integrity Committee Kyamgei (PICK) and All Kyamgei Nupi Apunba Lup was participated by people from Kyamgei, Bashikhong and Kyamgei Muslim.
The demonstrators also urged the Government to revoke the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact signed with Kuki militant groups and to update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the context of Manipur to identify and deport illegal immigrants.
Why is the PM still silent ?
A similar sit-in protest was held at Awang Potsangbam Khunou, where locals questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah would remain silent if the tragedy that struck Tronglaobi were to occur in other States.
Terrorists are terrorists, the protesters asserted, accusing the Central Government of shielding "Kuki terrorists".
They also questioned whether the Centre considers Manipur to be outside the boundaries of India.
They also claimed that security forces use excessive force against Meetei protesters but show restraint towards Kuki protesters.
Hand over the culprits to the people: Meira Paibis
Meanwhile, at Sawombung Bazar, a large group of people protested the killings of children at Tronglaobi and the firing on protesters by the CRPF.
Saying that the five-year-old and his newborn sister were separated from their mother too soon because the Government has failed to rein in the terrorists, they urged the Government to instead hand over the culprits to the Meira Paibi.
Launch military operation
A similar sit-in protest was organised by the Social Workers' Congress (SWC) at Khongman.
Speaking to the media, SWC president Athokpam Birendra urged the Government to launch a military operation and arrest all individuals involved in the killing of two siblings who were sleeping with their mother.
"Protect the innocent civilians and punish the killers," he demanded.
"Civilians can only protest"
People from the Sagolband Tera area also staged a sit-in protest at Tera Lukham Leirak.
The protesters, while stating that civilians have no choice but to protest in the face of inhumane acts, urged the Government to take swift action and bring all perpetrators of the Tronglaobi incidents to justice.
"Even sleeping with children in your arms cannot ensure safety in Manipur," they said, accusing the Government of being lenient towards the aggressors.
