Imphal, September 06:
Taking serious note of the lack of development in the Naga dominated districts of Senapati, Ukhrul, Chandel and Tamenglong, the United Naga People's Council has decreed that it would soon keep a close tab on the working of all offices located, the contract works being carried out and the conduct of Government employees posted in the said districts.
In a statement UNPC said that all those posted in the schools, colleges, district hospitals, CHC, PHC, Dispensary should work diligently.
No contract work without quality maintenance will be tolerated, it said and added that sharp vigil will start from October.
Towards this end, William Tangkhul will be in charge of Ukhrul, Robat for Senapati, Dim Golmei for Tamenglong and Megheiber for Chandel as district secretaries and information officers.
Those not falling in line will be punished, including the death penalty it said and added that commander of the Army wing of the outfit DS Ason has been briefed on this.
The UNPC also blamed the NSCN (IM) for all the ills dogging the four districts as they are only obsessed with money while student organisations of the said districts are busy playing communal politics.
