DG calls on Uikey

Imphal, February 29 2024: Director General of Police Rajiv Singh called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan this evening and apprised her of the prevailing security situation in the State.

During the meeting, the DGP submitted a detailed report on the recent incidents and briefed the Governor about his visit to Churachandpur district post February 15 incidents, said PRO RAJ Bhavan in a statement.

Cases of extortion from the general public and transporter associations were also discussed and the Governor asked the DGP to take stringent action against those involved in the act and to maintain free and safe passage of vehicles on the Highways.

The DGP assured the Governor that the police has been working dedicatedly for the safety and security of people of Manipur.

Taking serious note of the recent incidents, the Governor said, "It is high time that people should realize that there are few self-styled organisations both in hill and valley districts which are misleading the local populace by creating false propaganda from time to time" .

She urged the people to understand the pivotal role played by Manipur Police in safeguarding the lives and properties of the people.

The Governor appealed to the people to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order in the State.
