Imphal, February 29 2024:
An orientation cum sensitisation programme on 'Issues of exam stress among the students' in line with the 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was held on Thursday at the conference hall of DM College of Arts, here.
The programme was a part of the month-long 'Pariksha Parv 6.0' campaign being carried out by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR).
In his address, MCPCR chairperson Keisham Pradipkumar rued that apart from the students generally under stress when exams are round the corner, tension and violence gripping the state for over nine months has heightened anxiety among exam appearing students.
He also appealed to private educational institutions to reduce admission and tuition fees in view of the worsening economic condition of the state due to the prevailing unrest situation while urging the government to provide accommodation facilities to the violence-affected students at government residential schools.
The programme was also attended by Social Welfare director Ng Uttam, Imphal West ZEO Sucheta Khumukcham and DMC Arts principal Ranjit.
