Imphal, September 12 2011:
All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) has urged Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) and United Naga Council (UNC) to lift the economic blockades clamped along the highways in view of the untold suffering of the people particularly needy people.
AMCO would like to resound its message that every community irrespective of various ethnic groups living in the State and the Government in particular to shun violence, enmity, discrimination, prejudice, disrespect, injustice, irresponsibility, etc., but work and strive for peaceful co-existence, fraternity, equality, justice, integrity, quality education, respect for the interest of each community and prosperity, said a press release.
"Devoid of these ethics, we are afraid that our State may witness more violence until we become slave of outside force due to total disintegration among ourselves", it added.
AMCO further said that its daily prayer is that God the Almighty who rules all the affairs of humankind and the universe may grant wisdom and far-sightedness to the people in general and the leaders in particular that all may work for the common good for better and greater future in terms of fraternity, unity, peace and progress.
