The second round of meeting of the Committee on Re-organisation of Administrative & Police District Boundary which was held today has decided to seek the opinion of the public.
The Committee was set up by the State Government with the Chief Secretary as the chairman in the backdrop of district demands for Sadar Hills, Jiribam, etc.
The Committee is to submit its report to the Government in three month's time.
Presided by Chief Secretary DS Poonia, officials of various Departments including Home, Police, Revenue and Rural Development attended the second meeting of the Committee which adopted the resolution of inviting the opinions of interested persons on creation of new districts.
Interested persons have to submit their opinions to the Committee within September 15, on which the next meeting would also be convened.
It is said that Revenue Department has already started collecting relevant datas pertaining to the proposed re-organisation of administration.
