Imphal, December 09 2023:
The 22nd National conference of the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) has adopted a resolution demanding an immediate end to the Manipur conflict and rehabilitation of all internally displaced persons.
The resolution was moved by Manipur delegation leader Meisnam Shakhi during the morning session of the second day of the conference.
The conference is being held at Kharagpur's Geeta Mukherjee Nagar in West Bengal from December 8 .
During the morning session today, the delegations from across the country discussed the Manipur crisis in detail.
The resolution adopted by the conference noted that the conflict was driven by Kuki narco-terrorists and infiltrators with the objective to create Zalengam or a separate administration for the Kukis.
The resolution also noted that the Indian Government instead of ending the conflict was prolonging the conflict in its interest.
The resolution called on the Government of India to earmark and sanction a relief package for rehabilitation of internally displaced persons.
It said the Government should end the conflict immediately and construct houses for the people whose houses have been burnt down.
The resolution was signed by several leaders of the National Federation of Indian Women.
