Humanitarian aid extended, mega health camp conducted

Former students of Dhanamanjuri College of Science continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Today, Alumni Dhanamanjuri College of Science (1996-1999 Batch) organised a free health camp at Kumbi Terakha Relief Camp under Kumbi Assembly Constituency.
Former students of the College including JNIMS Medicine HOD in-charge Associate Prof Dr Irom Anil Singh, Manipur Health Services, Pathology, Dr Rishikesh Sharma and Manipur Health Services, Senior Consultant Radiation Oncology, Dr Thangjam Nirupama took part in the camp and provided free healthcare to about 280 persons along with free medicines.

They also distributed stationery items including pen, pencil, books, etc to the children staying at the relief camp.
Relief materials such as hot water bags, thermos flask, thermometer, BP instrument, Diabetes detection instrument, winter clothes, etc were also provided to the conflict survivors staying there.
Later, members of the Alumni visited the residence of Laitonjam Abe (28) at Keinou Thongkha to provide relief materials along with a monetary aid of Rs 10,000 .
The medical team also conducted a health check-up of Laitonjam Abe who has been battling with failure of both her kidneys.
Moreover, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI) in collaboration with social worker Sakir Ahmed conducted a 1-day Free Mega Health Camp today at Sakir Ahmed's building, opposite the Police Outpost, Sekmaijin.
A team of experts from various departments of SHRI including Dermatology, ENT, General Surgery, General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatric, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery provided free consultations and medical examination to 1033 persons during the camp, said a release issued by SHRI.
Complementary diagnostic services such as free ultrasounds, blood sugar tests, and ECG assessments were also provided to the patients.
Meanwhile, a team of MPCC led by its president Keisham Meghachandra today distributed sweets, stationery items, sanitary pads, salt and biscuits at various relief camps in connection with the 77th birthday of Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Relief materials were provided at Leimaram H/S Relief Camp, Schedule Caste Girls Hostel, Leimaram, Bishnupur Loukoi Pat Relief Camp, Mukta H/S & Thoiya Kokilibon Primary School, Moirang Relief Camp and Thanga Wangma High School Relief Camp, Thanga Moirangthem in Bishnupur district, said a release issued by MPCC.
Another team of MPCC led by its working president Victor Keishing and T Chawngbiak president DCC Churachandpur, also distributed relief materials at Community Hall Relief Camp, Rostad Memorial H/S Relief Camp and Saint Paul's Institute Relief Camp in Churachandpur district.
