Minister, MLAs in Delhi in bid to meet PM

Imphal, June 28 2024:
A delegation of six MLAs and one Minister have flown to New Delhi today to seek an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The agenda of their visit is to request the Central leadership to discuss the complex situation in Manipur on the floor of the House during the ongoing first session of the Lok Sabha.
According to a report received by The Sangai Express, Transport Minister Khasim Vashum, Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha, Chairman of Hill Areas Committee cum Nungba AC MLA Dinganglung Gangmei (Dipu Gangmei), Kumbi AC MLA Sanasam Premchandra, Uripok AC MLA Kh Raghumani and Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar have landed in New Delhi.
Raghumani took a separate Indigo flight to Delhi while the six others went together.
The trip to Delhi comes one day after Ministers and MLAs decided to seek an appointment with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Biren yesterday (May 27) .
It is reported that some more MLAs and Ministers may also head to New Delhi in a few days.
It is said that the legislators of the ruling party will also meet BJP's National president JP Nadda during their stay in New Delhi.
