Samvidhan Bachao rally held in Tengnoupal

Tengnoupal, May 26 2025: As part of the nationwide Samvidhan Bachao Jatra (Save the Constitution rally) launched by Indian National Congress (INC), Tengnoupal District Congress Committee organised a district-level rally in and around Lamlong Khullen in Tengnoupal district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra accused the BJP-led central government of failing to uphold the Indian Constitution and violating the fundamental rights guaranteed to the people.

In response, the INC launched the Samvidhan Bachao Yatra across the country.

The campaign has also been initiated in Manipur, with Tengnoupal district being the first among the hill districts to begin the movement, he noted.

The Congress MLA further stated that the failure to create employment opportunities to the youth and the inability to conduct local body elections�thereby hindering development programmes�constitute a clear violation of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India.

"These failures prompted the INC to launch the nationwide campaign," he reasoned.

The function was also attended by MPCC vice president Vidhyapati Senjam, spokesperson Ningombam Bupendra, general secretary Soibam Jiten, Tengnoupal District Congress Committee president and members, Mahila Congress and Youth congress representatives.

After the formal function, a rally was also taken out led by K Meghachandra during which the participants raised "Samvidhan Bachao" slogan.
