Imphal, May 20 2009: Noted singer Sunita Nepram, whose eyesight has been restored after a successful operation in a Madurai hospital paid tribute to the doctors with a solo performance at the hospital's auditorium today.

Sunita Nepram, who successfully underwent the operation by a team of doctors in Government Rajaji Hospital, madurai was reportedly proposed by the surgeons to perform after her eyesight has been restored which she obliged as a tribute.

According to family sources, Sunita was referred to the Madurai hospital by Dr Tondon of JN Hospital, Porompat with the madurai surgeons upon learning that the patient is a singer laying down 'conditions' that she perform after the operation.

After admission in Rajaji Hospital on May 11 her conditions were scanned by one Dr Soleimon who again referred Sunita to the nearby Arabin Hospital where surgeons conducted the operation four days later, the family source maintained.

As a tribute to the doctors, Sunita presented five numbers beginning with the popular Manipuri song 'Basantagee Mapao Puduna ....' and signing off with a Malayalam number that pleasantly surprised the audience composed of doctors and many medical personnel of the hospital.

Sunita Nepram, who is also a Music Teacher at the Government Ideal Blind School conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed their mite in restoration of her eyesight, said the family source further while speaking to The Sangai Express today evening.

SPA projects to be reviewed : Director of State Plan North East, Union Planning Commission Sarvan Kumar would be arriving at Imphal on a fiveday long visit to review the progress of the projects being taken up under the funding of Special Plan Assistance (SPA).

While at Imphal, Sarvan Kumar would be inspecting the progress of the Capitol Project, Food Park, Imphal Art College, Moreh Hospital, Trade Centre, Integrated Check Post and Water Sports Complex which are being constructed under SPA funding.

The Director would also be holding meeting with the Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) DS Poonia to discuss the issues related to these projects.
