Imphal, April 13 2025:
The Cordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has accused the Government of India especially Union Home Minister Amit Shah of spreading falsehoods on Manipur crisis.
Speaking at a public meeting held at Khumbong Keithel today, COCOMI convenor Khuraijam Athouba expressed dissatisfaction with the Centre's handling of the Manipur crisis which is nearing its two years mark.
Highlighting the plight of people in foothill areas, he said that many people are still unable to access their farms, let alone enjoy their fundamental rights.
Amit Shah has been spreading falsehoods on the Manipur crisis by repeatedly claiming that the crisis is over even though the State continues to reel under ethnic tensions, he said.
Further stating that the Centre hasn't taken up any concrete measure to let Manipur heal, Athouba added that the absence of firing doesn't necessarily means there is peace in Manipur.
Other members of COCOMI also attended the meeting which was jointly organised with Imphal West Sporting Club.
