The Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has asserted that all major irrigation schemes being taken up by the SPF Government such as the Khuga, Tipaimukh and Dolaithabi projects would be completed in four days' time.
Addressing a gathering of Congress party workers and leaders at the one day conference held this afternoon at Mayang Imphal Bazar the Chief Minister conveyed that plans are afoot to invite the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for inaugurating these projects.
He further announced that the SPF Government is making all out effort to execute a massive project on the Chakpi river in the coming years.
The Chief Minister also conveyed of the Government's commitment to ensure egalitarian development works in both the hills and valley areas and substantiated his assertion by stating that on June 13 the ITI centre and 100 bedded hospital in Ukhrul district would be inaugurated.
Regarding development activities planned in Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency, O Ibobi said considering several number of sportspersons from mayang Imphal area contributing to the State becoming a sporting prowess, particular in judo discipline a multi-purpose indoor stadium would be constructed at Mikha ground.
Pronouncing his approval for the indoor stadium construction at the conference, the CM also gave his assent for construction of a community hall at Mayang Imphal Bengoon.
In his address, Mayang Imphal AC's MLA Dr Kh Ratankumar highlighted development works implemented in the assembly segment under the SPF Government as well as future welfare schemes.
Among others, Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya, and Congress party legislators Md Allauddin, I Hemochandra, E Dwijamani and K Meghachandra also attended the conference which was jointly hosted by Mayang Imphal Block Congress Committee, Mahila Congress Committee and Youth Congress Committee.
Block Congress Committee president N Nillamani presided the session.
