AR honours braveheart, aids agniveer aspirants

Imphal, April 14 2024:
Assam Rifles organised a wreath-laying ceremony for braveheart rifleman Gokul Chandra Yadav of 35 Assam Rifles who made supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The braveheart laid down his life as a result of splinter wounds and succumbed to injuries due to an IED blast while patrolling in the periphery of Minuthong Transit Camp, Imphal on April 13, 2016, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
Assam Rifles paid tribute to the braveheart at the War Memorial on April 13, 2024 .
The ceremony commenced with the wreath-laying and a motivational speech delivered to all ranks, narrating the story of the braveheart in the service of the nation, the release further said.
A total of four officers, 15 junior commissioned officers, and 50 other ranks of the Assam Rifles paid respect by laying a wreath and according a guard of honour, it added.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles conducted an interactive session with ex-servicemen (ESM) and their families at the ex-servicemen office at Moreh on April 12 followed by distribution of essential relief materials and refreshments to 30 ex-servicemen and their family members.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles organised a mock test for aspirants of Agniveer recruitment rally at Chingmeirong, Imphal East district, on April 13 .
This mock test has been conducted for aspirants/applicants of the upcoming Agniveer recruitment rally who are currently attending coaching classes organised by Assam Rifles at Chingmeirong since March 20 .
Thirty five aspirants, including a girl, attend -ed this mock test to hone their preparation.
