JAC on NH 2 expansion gives strike call

Imphal, September 29 2021: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of NH 2 Expansion Affected Land Owners from seven villages namely Man-tri Leikai, Khonghampat, Pheidinga, Tendongyan, Maharabi, Sekmai and Kanglatongbi have decided not to extend cooperation to the on-going process of NH-2 expansion from October 3 and to call a general strike from that day itself for 48 hours.

In a release, JAC president M Ibomcha stated that the resolution was taken at a meeting of the JAC held at Kanglatongbi on September 27 attended by land owners of the seven villages in which they discussed various issue of NH-2 expansion.

Land owners of seven villages expressed dissatisfaction over the slow process and low compensation even though the JAC has been supporting the government machineries.
