AR conducts ex-servicemen rally

Tamenglong, January 24 2025: Reaching out to veterans and Veer Naris from Tamenglong and Noney districts, the Assam Rifles conducted an Ex-Servicemen Rally on Friday in Tamenglong district.

The event was designed to honour the courage, sacrifices and dedication of the brave men who have served in the armed forces, address various grievances of ex-servicemen and resolve various pension anomalies and documentation issues along with amelioration of day-to-day problems of veterans.

Around 50 veterans and Veer Naris from far-flung villages of the two districts attended the event wherein a number of problems were addressed and others were noted down for follow-up actions from relevant institutions like Record offices, Zila Sainik Board and Pension Disbursing Banks.

A medical counter was also set up to provide medical assistance to the veterans.

State Bank of India and Manitron Aadhaar Centre, Imphal, also established facilitation counters to assist and guide veterans on issues related to Banking and Aadhaar.
