CRPF units hold cleanliness drive, plant trees

86 Bn CRPF carried out a cleanliness drive around the battalion's surroundings at Lamphelpat as part of its ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva programme.
Since September 14 officers and personnel of the battalion have been actively involved in the drive under the supervision of commandant Saurabh Kumar Choudhary.
During Wednesday's drive, officers and other ranks of the battalion cleaned the surrounding areas of Lamphel Supermarket, collecting stray wrappers, bottles and other litter, said a release of 86 Bn CRPF.
On the other-hand, 143 Bn CRPF concluded its Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign with a formal valedictory ceremony held on Wednesday at NG College, Imphal.
The ceremony was attended by actor and social worker RK Somendra as chief guest in the presence of Y Nandakishor Singh, second-in-command of the battalion, and Shantibala Devi, vice-principal of NG College as well as students of the college and personnel of the battalion.
During his address, RK Somendra lauded the CRPF's pivotal role in serving the society and the nation.
He commended the volunteers who participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign for their dedication, and urged them to continue their commendable efforts in the future.
As part of the event, the participants took a pledge for the Swachhata Hi Seva mission and planted trees under the "Ed Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, according a release of 143 Battalion CRPF.
