Society opens old age home at Khoijuman

An old age home called 'Palem Panthou Shanglen' administrated by Senior Citizens for Society, Bishnupur Branch has been opened along the Khoijuman to Toubul inter-village road under Oinam assembly constituency.
Addressing a press meet at its office on Thursday, Shanglen secretary Jugindro Mutuwa informed that the home will provide free shelter and other amenities to people who above 60 years of age and have no one take care of them.
Mentioning that the home was established with a monthly contribution of Rs 100 by the Society members since 2015 and donations from public, he conveyed that the facility has the capacity to shelter 50 senior citizens including 20 women in eight rooms, apart from provisions for medical care, cook and security guard.
The press conference was also attended by Society president N Sanatomba and treasurer S Jiban.
