Gwaltabi Kuki chief asked to specify boundary

Imphal, May 25 2025: Strongly refuting the statement made by self-styled chief of Gwaltabi Kuki village named Ngamkhai Haokip on May 16 regarding Wung-Vei Town, Gwaltabi Village Development Committee asked Ngamkhai to clearly specify exact boundary of the Gwaltabi Kuki village.

The committee also asked Ngamkhai to specify the year of establishment of Gwaltabi Kuki village and clarify existence of the village under Lhungtin block of Kangpokpi district with revenue map.

The committee claimed that Gwaltabi Meetei village currently falls under the jurisdiction of Sawombung block of Imphal East district.

It also said that Gwaltabi Meetei village is flanked by Thawai Tangkhul village ori the east, Urangpat (west), Mongnelgang (south) and Khamenlok Gwaltabi reserve forest on the north.

The committee along with Youth Paradise Club, Gwaltabi and Meira Paibi of Gwaltabi also appealed to authority concerned to look into unauthorised naming of villages to avoid misunderstanding and unwanted incidents among the different communities.
