Speaking to media persons in connection with the drive, JCCWB convener Romesh Ningthoujam termed as regrettable that in-spite of relentless awareness campaigns some farmers continue to lay bird traps under the pretext of protecting their crop disregarding the fact that such traps often result in death of rare birds.
Advising the farmers to consult with wildlife authority concerned or JCCWB in case of facing problems in protecting their crops or fish farms invaded by birds, he assured to provide solution and pay compensate for the damage caused.
