Minister Dingo launches scheme for elderlies

Thoubal, January 24 2025: Social Welfare minister Heikham Dingo on Friday launched an awareness campaign for welfare of senior citizens christened "Hamara Buzurg, Hamara Abhiman Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojna" (AVYAY) .

The launch function held at the auditorium of Radio Nongin, Gambhir Singh Shopping Arcade in Imphal was held under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Speaking at the function, minister H Dingo stressed that elders should be cared for and treated with love and respect.

He highlighted the need to provide them with protection and proper care, noting that there are many households where elderly individuals are mistreated, which must be stopped.

He said that the scheme aims to educate families on how to treat their elders with kindness, care and protection.

He also encouraged the public to tune in to Nongin Radio to listen to the programme.
