AR commemorates World Nature Conservation Day

Imphal, July 29 2025: Assam Rifles carried out a tree plantation drive under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" at Pangaltabi to commemorate World Nature Conservation Day.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the drive witnessed participation of schoolchildren, teachers, and members of youth clubs, forest officials and locals.

The programme commenced with an awareness session led by Assam Rifles personnel together with forest officials.

They facilitated insightful discussions on the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, mitigating the adverse effects of climate change and protecting the rich biodiversity unique to this area, the PRO informed, adding that the participants planted saplings of indigenous species across multiple locations, adhering to best environmental practices.
