Bishnupur, May 25 2025: The 135th death anniversary of Pukhrambam Kajao was observed at the Pukhramba Kajao Memorial Compound in Kangmong Maisnam Leikai on Sunday.

The observance, jointly organised by Pukhramba Kajao MemorialTrust Manipur and Justice Committee on Anglo-Manipuri War 1891 Martyrs and Freedom Fighter of Kangleipak, was attended by former UNLF chairman RK Sanayaima, Justice Committee chairman Joychandra Konthoujam, Memorial Trust vice president Ngangom Tomal, DM University former Sports director professor RK Chandrakumar, writer and social activist Hareshwar Goshwami, MU Yoga professor Dr N Ibohal and Art and Culture retired joint director Sapam Bheigya as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Sanayaima described Pukhrambam Kajao courageous patriot who laid down his life for the motherland by spearing British political agent WC Grimwood to death.

He pointed out the need for people like Kajao in today's times of crisis, individuals with a deep sense of patriotism and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.

Sanayaima also condemned the recent incident at Gwaltabi, stating that the act carried significant underlying meaning.
