Imphal, September 21 2024:
Assam Rifles undertook 'Swacchata Hi Seva' (SHS) cleanliness drive and clearance of blocked drainage system with the help of excavator at Tusom CV village in Ukhrul District on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) said that SHS is a cleanliness campaign launched every year starting from September 15 and ending on October 2, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
This campaign highlights innovative initiatives, cleanliness drives, and community engagement efforts that promote the message of 'Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swacchata'- instilling cleanliness as both a habit and a core value.
By embracing the principle of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,' the campaign seeks to encourage widespread public participation and reinforce the idea that sanitation is a collective responsibility, it added.
