Imphal, August 01 2024: Valedictory programme of the week-long observance of "ORS Week" held under the theme "Diarrhoea Ki Roktham, Safai Aur ORS Se Rakhen Apna Dhyan" was held on Wednesday at RIMS Banting Hall.

A release issued by RIMS media advisor informed that the valedictory function organised by Paediatric Association of Manipur PAM) was attended by RIMS Director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma as chief guest and medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh as president with EB.

CIAP (Manipur & Tripura) Prof N Kameshwore, PAM secretary Dr L Basanta Singh and RIMS chief nursing officer i/c N Ibemhal as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil highlighted the advantages of usage and importance of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) and emphasised the main role played by health workers in disseminating information on health awareness programmes to society.

The sole aim is to give information to society about how ORS is used and control diarrhoea by reducing the morbidity due to diarrheal disease in children, he added.

The programme was attended by HODs, nursing officials, staff and students of RIMS, it added.
