Bisoya scales new heights

In a first for Manipur, Bisoya Loitongbam has been selected for the prestigious 'Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence' .
The fellowship is wholly funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office and is hosted by the University of Oxford.
The fellowship aims at young leaders with strong and demonstrable leadership potential from diverse backgrounds.
It enables leaders in all fields to explore changing ideas and practices of leadership and examines the implications of globalisation for Indian leaders.
Bisoya is the daughter of former Minister Loitongbam Amujao Singh and Loitongbam Sushila Devi of Angtha village, Andro Assembly Constituency.
She is currently the Director of the 10-Bed ICU project of eGovernments Foundation, a non-profit co-founded by Nandan Nilakeni and Srikanth Nadhamuni.
Bisoya has worked for over 18 years in leadership positions across sectors, including ICICI, the Ministry of Rural Development, Ernst & Young, United Nations Development Program, and the Azim Premji Foundation.
She is a postgraduate from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, and an engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal.
She is also pursuing an Executive PhD in Economics from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
She did her schooling in Manipur at Brighter Academy and Manipur Public School.
She will join 11 other fellows from diverse backgrounds, including Annamalai Kuppusamy, the BJP president of Tamil Nadu, Imkongla Jamir, IAS, Karnataka Resident Commissioner, Rohini Bidari, IAS, Pvt Secy to Minister of State for Education and other achievers.
As part of the fellowship, Bisoya will attend an intensive, 12-week residential course at the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) at the University of Oxford.
