Ukhrul rallies against bomb attack

Ukhrul, September 17 2024:
A public rally was taken out in Ukhrul today demanding 'immediate' arrest of the perpetrator(s) who carried out a bomb attack at the residence of Transport Minister Khasim Vashum at Hamleikhong in Ukhrul recently.
The rallyists held placards that read "No to bomb culture," "District administration-Ensure public safety", "Book the culprits," "Stop such cowardly acts," and "Our safety is priority" among others.
The rally which was organised by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) began from Hamleikhong and converged at the Mini Secretariat gate, following which a four point memorandum was submitted to Ukhrul Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kajakai and Additional Superintendent (Addl SP) Ringthing Hongchui.
The rally was led by the president and colleagues of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), ex-members of ADC-Ukhrul, leaders from different localities, and party workers.
The memorandum which TNL submitted urged the Government to expedite the investigation and book the culprit(s) at the earliest, ensure the safety of the public at all times, monitor the entry of non-locals in the district headquarters and to install CCTVs at all major intersections in Ukhrul Headquarters.
