Parijat inspects

Command Area Development Authority (CADA) Minister Ph Parijat today inspected agricultural fields located around Khuga Multipurpose Project which have high potential to get the benefits of irrigation.
CADA started taking up necessary measures since last year to provide irrigation facilities to agricultural fields located around Khuga Project in Churachandpur district.
Parijat said that CADA has set a target of irrigating 9575 hectares in Churachandpur district and some areas in Bishnupur district.
Presently, Khuga Dam is supplying water through the 8 Kms long canal.
Parijat said that a joint meeting of IFCD, CADA, Agriculture Department and local farmers would be organised very shortly to identify the areas where irrigation facilities can be provided to enable double cropping in a year.
Till date, around Rs 2 to 3 crores have been spent on CADA's initiative for irrigation.
Churachandpur DC Norbet Disinang, CADA Addl Chief Engineer K Manoranjan and other CADA officials accompanied the Minister during his inspection visit.
