Thoubal, August 01 2024: Students of Lilong Higher Secondary Madras-sa staged protest on Thursday against transfer of their teacher at a time when the school is facing shortage of teachers.

Speaking to media persons, one of the protesting students informed that Lilong Higher Secondary Madrassa is one of the largest government schools in the state with more than 900 students enrolled.

Regrettably, out of four post of chemistry teachers only three are posted at the Madrassa for the said subject.

In-spite of shortage of teacher, the Education Department on July 25 issued a transfer order of chemistry teacher Md Shoukat Ali consequently disturbing the academic atmosphere, said the student, and cautioned of launching intense protests in case department concerned does not revoke the transfer order within 48 hours.
