MSCW chief calls for empowering girl child

Imphal, January 24 2025: Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) observed National Girl Child Day on the theme 'Empowering girls for a bright future' at Nirvana Foundation Children Home for Girls, Ghari Awang Leikai on Friday.

Attending the event as chief guest, MSCW chairperson Th Tiningpham Monsang stated that the society needs to empower the girl child to realise the goal of prosperity and holistic development.

"There is a need to ensure good health and access to education for the girls, for they are also the future pillars of the society," she remarked.

The observance was attended by T Nirvana Foundation secretary S Sobha and MSCW members.

As part of the observance, girls staying at the Home presented a song and dance performance.
