Kidnapped minister Susindro's PS released

Imphal, September 21 2024: Sarangthem Somorendro, the private secretary of CAF & PD minister L Susindro, who was kidnapped by some unidentified armed miscreants on Friday morning, was released at around 2am on Saturday while one person suspected to be involved in the kidnapping has been arrested by police.

The arrested person has been identified as Md Israr Khan (32) son of late Md Tayeb Ali of Thoubal Moijing Thongjao Makhong, Thoubal district.

According to a police source, Sarangthem Somorendro was kidnapped by some unidentified armed men at around 8am on Friday but was released at around 2am on Saturday.

Somorendro was rushed to Raj Medicity at North AOC immediately after his release for medical check-up.

The police source further said that Md Israr Khan was arrested during the course of investigation relating to a case filed at Porompat police station and he has been remanded to police custody for further questioning.
